Giovanni Ramos

Giovanni Ramos was born and raised in Mexico where he received his B.A. in psychology at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. In Mexico, he worked with underserved families in rural and urban communities. After transitioning to the U.S., he obtained an additional degree at Florida International University where he witnessed the challenges of adapting Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) for appropriate use with diverse populations, especially Latino families. As a graduate student, he is especially interested in 1) examining the efficacy and effectiveness of, as well as adherence to, EBPs among diverse families, 2) developing cultural adaptations in assessment and treatment by considering the role of culture, and 3) establishing community-based projects in order to disseminate culturally sensitive interventions.
